Scuba Scuba Scuba

My birthday is today ... yeah that's about it to be honest, that's about friggin' it!!!! I have an urge for Scuba and oh my lord do I want some scuba gear, see below:

I mean, any website that lets me see the creative is just begging to invite me, just the scuba equipment is aroun 5k for a full set .... hmmmz forget saving up, I NEED THIS equipment ... I NEED.

As Nevil Shute says: "A man who's extra work activities include a penchant for risking his life normally exhibits ideas beyond reproach in the workplace is it is not their motive to protect their job, just to pass the time until their next adventure."

I Declare An Economic Crisis! Oh, but im still going on a 3k holiday to the Caribbean.

I don't know what it is about this country that makes us expect that we can just survive during a period of economic downturn. Muscle labour goes where muscle labour is cheaper and that is not here. The likes of India, Pakistan, Africa, China & other countries can buy and sell us in GNP and we still have an unfounded sense of superiority, there is glory in the high street. I can't help feel sorry for this country and it inability to see its flawed state, the lack of education and perception by the general population is worrying.

In the industry I am seeing a shift towards the supplier handling engineering information & the distribution of capital. This shift removes the need for responsibility from the client onto the sub-contractor, allowing any loss of earn
ings or wealth to be placed on the contractor and as such its moves down the supply chain affecting the small businesses. In an ever increasing technology market where information plays a key role to defining project outlines, an information age equips companies at the low level of supply chain to adequately protect themselves by use of referencing electronic sources. This therefore drives prices higher as contractors are usually submitting fixed prices in accordance with limited specifications which are left open to
perception, prices are increased accordingly with notions of contingencies, out of hours works and in the case of the more wary contractor, sundries of captital to cover equipment poorly or wrongly manufactured. The more astute contractor will search the www or by use of previous examples of work to outline the scope of supply.

Going forward, small manufacturing companies are quoting work well above their capabilities and sub-contracting out the parts to suppliers who ought to have had the project placed on them entirely. Generally companies supplying any pr
oduct outside of their scope of work have alot of things to be wary about, a first venture into an unknown or generally known product will ultimately lead to many problems including:

A loss
Over stretched resources (affecting standard
working practices)
Loss of reputation through poor comparative standard

In conclusion, it really affects industry when a new competitor undercuts everyone fulfilling the specification & produces an inferior product. This then leads to hesitance with existing suppliers by clients demanding much more stringent deliverables through lack of trust in the industry, leading to poor product service.

Rant over.

New Car

I am currently in the process of wanting a new car ... and needing one. MY clutch is a bag of frozen peas at the moment and its having a seriously detrimental effect on my social and professional life (professional in a silver 3 door VW Polo ... ha).

Below is the 3 cars I desire at the moment ... they are plentiful in bells and whistles and cheap, around the 5k to 7k mark.

Golf Plus

VW Bora - TDI

Mercedes Benz - CLK

Woes me and my puny troubles.

20/06/2011 - A Hard Days Grasp

I NEED NEED NEED to go snorkelling/diving soon, I just saw some epic pictures of my last dive in Cyprus over 2 YEARS AGO, WTF!!! So im making a pact to go diving in the next 3 months and get my badges, there ... I said it!!! (Now just to do something).

Such a shame, the other worldy is so close.

Anyway, my blogging is ridiculous, almost laughable. I have since gained a 2:1 honours degree in mechanical engineering since my last blog which explains the relapse, I stand firm I will definitely get my shit together and post my life's trails and tribulations here.

Also, 17:35 GMT, I just read that Ryan Dunn, the strongarm of Jackass has been killed in a car crash. I grew up watching their antics modelling my own humour on their frolicks (obviously not so rash). Its very saddening, but is admittedly a very obvious outcome to such an extravagant lifestyle, the man lived a thousand more than the average so he was more successful in that respect that 99% of the world.

I will try and blog something everyday from now on. (Im a little tired after a 6:45 to 17:45 3d design marathon). Tonight I plan to have a loverly tea and continue reading my new book, Slide Rule by Neville Shute (Norway).
